FEATURE FILM CASTING CALL
Casting Call: Indigenous women, ages 16-22 yrs old. Please only submit if you identify as Indigenous. No previous acting experience necessary.
Role: Rosie - 19 yrs old, Indigenous, 8 months pregnant
Character description: Rosie grew up in northern B.C. and has recently aged out of foster care. A lifetime of broken trust, has made Rosie both guarded and vulnerable. She is wise beyond her years and deeply sensitive to the world around her. She’s also a bit of a smart-ass and often finds other people’s discomfort amusing. Despite her fierce independence, she has found herself pregnant and trapped in an abusive relationship with an older man. Ultimately, what she wants more than anything else, is to find stability and build the loving and supportive family she never had.
Logline: A chance encounter between two Indigenous women with drastically different lived experience, sets them on a shared journey that will forever change their lives.

Technical Instructions for Self-Tape:
**Note: We want to get an idea of who you are so try your best to relax and just be yourself**
Begin with a slate: To slate, write your name and age, phone number and email address and what city you currently live in on a piece of paper in large letters and stand so that the camera frame includes your full body. Please speak directly to the camera and state your name, age, where you are from, and how we get in touch with you.
Following your slate, please tighten the image so that the top of your head and mid-chest are visible and proceed with answering the following questions:
- What interests you about acting?
- How can you relate to this role?
- Please tell us about any previous acting experience. Again, no experience is necessary.
- Tell us a story, no longer than 3 minutes. Some examples of stories you might tell could include- an experience that changed your life, one of your favourite memories, a story about someone you love, or just something funny that happened to you or someone you know.
